Our guiding fishing philosophy is conservation; minimizing stress to the environment. We catch a lot of fish, but employ techniques that don’t harm fish we release or that escape during the fight. Generally, we discourage high-grading; catching and releasing large numbers of fish looking for “the big one.” We use single hooks on lures and jigs. Treble hooks are more prone to injury. We use ‘circle’ halibut hooks when bait fishing. This hook is rarely swallowed with little or no mortality to fish returned to the water.
